Is there anyone that doesn’t use kitchenware? And a second question… How often does someone use kitchenware? The answer is that for the most of people it’s a daily habit to be involved with the kitchen. But who of us has ever thought the kitchenware as art-to-be?
Florida-based artist Sally Mankus has thought it and she has already in her collection pot lids and pans that are not resemble to others, because the specific kitchenware depict faces.
Sally says for her works: “The faces used in this mixed media work are mainly from photographs I have taken of friends and family members. Familiar brand names and symbols appear on some handles … Wearever, Saladmaster, Kitchen Craft, Mirro and Queen.”
