Supplies:
All you need is an empty soda can and a pair of everyday scissors . Wash the remains inside with some water.

Cut the top of the can , all around the metal surface, close to the edge.

Cut 16 strips , that should be even. To manage this, try to cut in the middle in two equal pieces first , then each one in two even pieces that is four, then eight and finally sixteen.

Flatten out the strips

it looks like a flower !

Take one strip and bend over the first next one. Hide the end underneath the 2nd strip.

Continue all the way around

keep folding …

Here you go ! Your ashtray is finished !!

This was an example with 16 stripes. You can cut more or less than sexteen stripes, the important is to be even.
