Taboo Collection, is the name of these furnitures made out of recycled garbage bags and bottles.
Designers Ayse Birsel and Bibi Seck, from Dakar were inspired from the daily habits of Western Africans, who traditionally sit on stool or squat on the floor around tables to eat from a communal tray of food.
Taboo Collection contains 75% recycled garbage bags; the Senegalese Transtech, maker of recycled plastic cisterns and septic tanks, is fabricating the Taboo Collection.
The furniture are coming in coral, blue, green, where the end colour is largely dependent upon the recycled plastic content. Can be used indoors and outdoors.
