Even thought conventional beer rings are made out of LDPE\u00a0(low-density polyethylene) and are designed to break down under the sunlight within 90 days, still their environmental ipmact is serious.<\/p>\n<p>And that would be our story, if \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.saltwaterbrewery.com\/home\/y99ne16iibc1mkqh1ez9ifu1uu1dtp\">Saltwater Brewery<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.webelievers.com\/\">Webelievers<\/a>, an advertising agency, wouldn&#8217;t have worked \u00a0together to\u00a0create this 100 percent biodegradable, compostable, edible and plastic-free six-pack holder that is made out of wheat and barley &#8212; byproducts of the brewing process.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-shortcode\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class='youtube-player' width='1170' height='659' src='https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-YG9gUJMGyw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent' allowfullscreen='true' style='border:0;' sandbox='allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation'><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p>A 3D printer was used\u00a0to manufacture the first 500 of these new rings, for the brewery&#8217;s main brand. Their goal is to\u00a0produce 400,000 per month, to cover the brewery&#8217;s current production every month. Even though the cost is high, the team is determine to pass it through the consumers since<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>f our six pack ring ends up in the ocean in a matter of hours it starts breaking down, which also addresses the issue of animals getting stuck in them. [..]\n[The project] shows that through innovation the little guys can point the finger at governments and big business to motivate change that impacts our world and the one we will leave for our children.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well done guys, we hope your idea too end up in the ocens.
