Alejandro Duran is a Mexico-born and New York based artist and the photographer of the Washed – Up<\/a> series of photos. \"\"<\/a> The artist \u201caddresses the issue of plastic pollution making its way across the ocean and onto the shores of Sian Ka\u2019an, Mexico\u2019s largest federally-protected reserve\u201d collecting wash up debris and trash. \"\"<\/a> \u201cHe conflates the hand of man and nature, distributing the objects the way the waves would, like wind-scattered seed or roots tunneling through soil, echoing the organic forms of the surrounding landscape.\u201d \"\"<\/a> Trash art in action.<\/p>\n
