{"id":718,"date":"2010-12-10T12:26:03","date_gmt":"2010-12-10T10:26:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yiuco.com\/blog\/?p=718"},"modified":"2017-04-19T08:39:49","modified_gmt":"2017-04-19T08:39:49","slug":"walk-more-drive-less","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yiuco.com\/en\/walk-more-drive-less\/","title":{"rendered":"Walk more, drive less"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An ingenious piece of artwork created by Chinese pedestrians as they crossed the streets of\u00a0Shanghai won the Grand Prix at the Green Awards in London last week.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The awards,chose the China Environmental Protection Foundation&#8217;s Walk More Drive Less road graffiti for &#8220;the creativity exhibited by the campaign and the simple and effective use of local knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yiuco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Green-Pedestrian-Crossing-China.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-720\" title=\"Green-Pedestrian-Crossing-China\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yiuco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Green-Pedestrian-Crossing-China.jpg\" width=\"468\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On seven pedestrian crossings in Shanghai an enormous drawing of a bare tree was placed in the middle of the road. As people crossed the street they walked over a patch of green paint which then spread their green footprints across the canvas, painting the branches of the tree with leaf footprints.<\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0China Environmental Protection Foundation the campaign reached an impressive &#8220;3.92 million people and increased general public awareness about environmental awareness by 86%.&#8221; They commented on the campaign by saying: &#8220;With the great help of DDB China Group&#8217;s outstanding creativity, we successfully planned and carried out the Green Pedestrian Crossing campaign.
